[Untitled] a forum
2025
In this [Untitled] forum, the proposed design is a vessel; serving knowledge, art, expression, outreach, and revolution, where vocality and amplification is the core design theory. Though the proposal is curated towards amplifying black voices, the space is never exclusive in representation, rather existing as an olive branch that exhibits a non-censored community. The design houses a central performance platform and an archival center that houses various forms of expression all relating to the central ethics in which the space stands for. From music selection to book selection, the space designs intentionally and ethically down to its material foundations.
In order from Left to Right:
1. Clay Plaster from ClayWorks
2/3. Seaweed Biofoam by Agoprene
4/5. Nordic Knots Wool Rugs
6. Recycled Polished Metal
7. Recycled Wood
Through Material Selection, the space keeps its ethics rigorous. Using innovative materiality to set example for better methods of consumption. Beginning with a Sustainable Clay Plaster (1) from CayWorks, a brand dedicated creating healthier alternatives. I coat the walls a smooth white with the premixed, pre-pigmented interior wall plaster (100% natural & compostable). The space also uses a seaweed bio-foam as an acoustic (absorption) material. Made by Agoprene, the primarily Norwegian kelp uses minerals from shells and waste from the Norwegian paper industry, creating a 100% biodegradable material with no harmful or petroleum-based chemicals. Used for dropped ceilings and interior stuffing for furniture. One of the most used materials in the space is carpet. Though difficult to remain cognizant in proper eco-friendly practice due to the realities of the carpet industry, Nordic Knots is dedicated to all natural, untreated wool and cotton. Meaning the material is biodegradable but also possible for circulation and reuse post use. The last two materials are wood and polished metal; since minimal in their application, this is perfect opportunity to use recycle materials. A lost art in modern day high-end design, recycled sourcing benefits the space in detail... finalizing the material selection for this project.

Illuse Adaption
2025
A pop-up sensory experience internally fabricated from acoustic mesh and mirror creating an illusion of sensed distance through a deprivation of sound and light. Consisting of three stages being audio deprivation, spatial illusion, and light adaption. See below for a charcoal representation of the interior experience.
